Rules and Regulations
Welcome to Salak Eco Trail Run 2024! As a participant, it is important to understand and comply with the rules and regulations set to ensure the smooth running of the event and the safety of everyone involved. This document consolidates all rules and regulations you need to know before participating.
General Terms
- Understanding the Rules: All participants must read and understand the Terms and Conditions and Competition Rules before participating.
- Medical Consultation: Participants who have concerns about their health condition should consult a doctor before joining the race.
- Appropriate Gear: Participants must use appropriate running gear and clothing suitable for the race terrain.
- Participant Safety: These rules are designed to ensure the safety of all participants and related parties.
- Organizer’s Rights: The organizer reserves the right to reject registrations if participants provide false information, fail to make payment, or do not meet race requirements.
- No Running with Unregistered Participants: Participants are prohibited from running with non-registered participants.
- Cut-Off Time (COT): All participants must complete the race within the specified Cut-Off Time (COT). Those who finish outside the COT will not receive a medal or finisher’s shirt (for all categories).
- Stop When Instructed: Participants must stop the race immediately if instructed by medical officers, race directors, referees, and/or security/marshals.
- Protesting Results: Participants may file a protest within 30 minutes after the race results are announced or after the prize is awarded, whichever comes first.
Trail Running Ethics
- Conservation of Flora and Fauna: Participants are prohibited from damaging or taking plants along the race route, especially within the boundaries of the Gunung Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS).
- Follow the Set Route: Participants must follow the designated race route set by the organizers.
- Environmental Cleanliness: Keep the environment clean by disposing of trash in designated areas.
- Sportsmanship and Safety: Uphold sportsmanship and prioritize the safety of yourself and other participants.
Mandatory Gear
- Self-Reliance: Participants must complete the race using their own strength without any mechanical or wheel support.
- Mandatory Gear: Participants must carry and comply with the “MANDATORY GEAR” requirements specified for their race category.
- Compliance with Gear Requirements: Failure to comply with the mandatory gear requirements may result in disqualification or penalties.
Directional Signs and Markers
- Follow the Route: Participants must follow the designated route by paying attention to directional signs and instructions from marshals.
- Sign Colors: Directional signs will have different colors according to race categories. This information will be explained during the technical meeting before the race.
- If You Get Lost: If participants get lost, they must return to the last visible sign or marker.
Water Stations
- Water Station Locations: Water stations will be available at various points along the route.
- Number of Water Stations:
- 6 km: 1 stations
- 12 km: 2 stations
- 21 km: 2 stations
Checkpoints
- Participant Monitoring: Participants in the 12 km and 21 km categories will pass through designated checkpoints.
- Checkpoint Purpose: Checkpoints are used for monitoring by marshals and the organizing committee.
Disqualification and Penalties
Participants will be disqualified if:
- They fail to show checkpoint signs at the finish line.
- They take shortcuts or do not follow the designated route.
- They have health issues deemed dangerous by medical staff.
- They do not finish within the Cut-Off Time (COT).
- They run without an official BIB number and timing chip provided by the organizer.
- They wear more than one BIB number.
- They lose their BIB and timing chip.
Race Cancellation
The organizer reserves the right to cancel or modify the race route due to extreme weather, natural disasters, or other situations that endanger participants’ safety.
Registration and Participant Eligibility
- Registration Process: Registration can only be done through the official Salak Eco Trail Run 2024 website.
- Age of Participants: Participants must be at least 16 years old for all categories (6K, 12K, and 21K).
- Health Document: Participants are required to sign a personal health and responsibility statement and submit a recent health certificate from a doctor.
- Non-Transferable: Registration numbers and BIBs cannot be transferred to another person.
- Data Accuracy: The organizer reserves the right to disqualify participants if the BIB number does not match the registration data provided.
- Wearing the BIB: Participants must always wear their BIB visibly on the front of their body.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Condition: Participants must be in good physical condition and free from any medical conditions that could be exacerbated by intense physical activity.
- Medical Assistance: Participants who feel unwell or injured during the race must immediately seek medical assistance at designated health stations.
- Organizer’s Right: The organizer reserves the right to stop participants deemed unfit to continue the race for health reasons.
- Withdrawing from the Race: Participants who decide to withdraw from the race must report to the nearest checkpoint and wait for evacuation by event staff.
Environmental Rules
- No Littering: Littering along the route is strictly prohibited. Participants caught littering will be disqualified.
- Protecting Nature: Participants must protect the flora and fauna along the route and refrain from damaging natural habitats.
- Environmental Commitment: The organizer is committed to minimizing the environmental impact of this event by using environmentally friendly materials and ensuring thorough cleanup after the event.
Route Supervision
- Following the Route: Participants are required to follow the route set by the Salak Eco Trail Run 2024 organizers.
- Participant Behavior: Participants who do not follow the instructions of race officials, exhibit unsportsmanlike behavior, or feel offended by the actions or words of officials, other participants, or spectators may be disqualified.
- Gaining Unfair Advantage: Any participant found gaining an unfair advantage by cutting the race route will be disqualified.
- Official Medical Assistance: Medical assistance provided by the official medical team will not be considered external assistance leading to disqualification. If a participant receives medical attention during or after the race, they must inform the organizer about their health condition.
BIB and Timing Chip
- BIB Distribution: All participants will receive a BIB with an attached timing chip. Participants must wear the BIB according to the organizer’s instructions.
- Race Start Time: The race start time will be determined by the gun flag, horn sound, or another signal marking the start of the race.
- Time Recording: Participants’ times will be recorded by the timing chip (net time) from when participants cross the start line until they cross the finish line.
- Proper Use of BIB: Participants must always wear their BIB with the timing chip attached properly from start to finish.
- No Duplicate BIBs: Participants wearing more than one BIB will be disqualified, and their time will not be recorded.
- Loss of BIB: Participants who lose their BIB and timing chip will be disqualified.
Race Regulation Modifications
- Organizer’s Rights: The organizer reserves the right to modify, add, or waive any race regulations at any time.
- Participant Compliance: Participants will be bound by any changes made by the organizer.
- Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to comply with the regulations and any changes may result in disqualification, cancellation of prizes, and deletion of participants’ time records.
Organizer’s Responsibility
- Lost Belongings: The organizer is not responsible for the loss or damage of participants’ personal belongings.
- Race Cancellation: The organizer reserves the right to cancel the race for safety reasons and/or unforeseen circumstances.
